This file shows a spreadsheet with water current velocity and depth measured with a mini-impeller flow meter at the outlet weir from Duck Lake.




This file contains spreadsheet calculations of discharge rate vs water depth over a broad-crested weir of length 10.9 m, the length of the weir in the Duck Lake outlet channel when it is 100% exposed. By rolling the cursor over the associated graph, one can quickly find the discharge for a given stage height.

Discharge rates are shown to vary from less than 0.1 cubic meter per second for a water depth of one inch (2.54 cm) to more than 2 cubic meters per second as the stage rises to about 1 foot (30 cm).

One cubic meter is approximately 250 gallons.
